The Vision of the Rosary

CHRIST'S MEEK MOTHER SAINT MARYE
MY LIFE'S LIGHT MY BELOVED LADYE

At frequent intervals in the life of the Church many holy people have encouraged the use of the Holy Rosary. Not only for their own spiritual joy and consolation, but to convert the Godless, to combat heresies and for peace.

It was at the beginning of the Century (in October 1905) that the Anglo Catholic priest The Rev'd S.E.Serle brought the Guild into being, starting with one circle of fifteen members who said between them all fifteen decades of the Rosary each day. In the early years the Guild suffered persecution for its practices, and was forbidden the use of churches. However through the hard work and perseverance of firstly Mr. W. H. Havergall, followed by the Rev'd J. H. C. Twisaday, the Guild survived all its days of criticism and hardship and became the LIVING SOCIETY it is today, and now has members from all traditions i.e. Roman Catholic, Anglican, Traditional Anglicans and other Continuing Church members - consisting of Priests, Religious and laity in all parts of the world.

The Guild of the Living Rosary of Our Lady and Saint Dominic therefore exists to promote the use of this particular method of prayer amongst ALL CHRISTIANS. It is a society which concentrates on meditation and intercession- these spiritual practises which are all too easily neglected in "this high speed age".
